COURSE OUTLINE:
KEYBOARDING is designed to introduce proper keyboarding techniques and develop keyboarding speed and accuracy. After mastery of the keyboard, students will apply keyboarding skills using word processing software to create various documents including memorandums, letters, tables, and reports.
Keyboarding Class Fee - $2.00 (consumable supplies)
EXPLORING CAREER DECISIONS is designed to provide an orientation to the world of work. Activities enable students to increase self-awareness and make wise decisions as they plan for careers.
BUSINESS COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY is designed to provide hands-on instruction in basic computer hardware components and software applications. Emphasis is placed on reinforcing touch keying skills while providing experience for learning word processing, database, spreadsheet, graphics, multimedia, and telecommunications applications.
CLASS RULES:

Follow all Mount Pleasant Middle School rules.

Take care of all personal business between classes.

Bring supplies to class daily--notebook, pen (black or blue ink) or pencil.

You must walk in the computer lab. Running is not permitted.

You must use only the computer assigned to you.

Be in your assigned seat at the tardy bell and remain seated during the class.

Show respect and courtesy to others. Practice good manners.

Respect the property of others.

There must not be any food, drinks, gum, or candy in the computer lab.

Use of the Internet is restricted to authorized use only.

Leave your work area clean and neat with your chair pushed up to your desk.

Remain in your assigned seat until dismissed by your teacher.

Use of the Internet (including e-mail) is strictly prohibited unless instructed by or authorized by the Teacher. Unauthorized use of the Internet will result in immediate referral to SMC.
