Bethel is the proud recipient of a
Lowe's Toolbox for Education Grant, totaling more than $4,800. The
grant is being used to improve the school's courtyard, while providing a
hands-on curriculum for all grade levels in both science and social
studies. We have included outdoor floor maps of the local
community, state and nation in the courtyard.
Productive growing gardens
focusing on plant and animal life with special emphasis on habitats,
soil life, composting and the effects of water also are planned using
the grant money. We plan to add game boards to promote
active, healthy living among students to the outdoor area as well.
Thank you to Kelly Hagemann for making this opportunity possible. Thank you to David Nickel, Bethel's art teacher, for his planning and artistry with the outdoor floor maps and also to all the people who have volunteered their time to help with this project.
Additional Thanks:
Patterson Nursery for plant donations, Old Castle for donating garden soil, Tim Cook for engineering services,
