CCS Announces Personnel Appointments

As Cabarrus County Schools continues its preparations for the upcoming school year, Superintendent Barry Shepherd announces the following personnel appointments:

Jim Williams, principal at Harris Road Middle School, has been appointed principal of the Performance Learning Center (PLC), replacing Kevin Blackburn, who was named principal of Bethel Elementary School in July. Dr. Williams joined Cabarrus County Schools in 2000 as an assistant principal at J.N. Fries Middle School. During his tenure, he also worked as an assistant principal and principal at C.C. Griffin Middle School.

Raymond "Tripp" Aldredge, assistant principal, Central Cabarrus High School, has been promoted to principal at Harris Road Middle School, replacing Dr. Jim Williams. Before joining Cabarrus County Schools in 2010, Aldredge served as an administrator in Carteret and Scotland County Schools.

Brian Hamilton, assistant principal of instruction, Hickory Ridge Middle School, has transferred to the Opportunity School at the Glenn Center as assistant principal/assistant principal of instruction. Hamilton joined Cabarrus County Schools in 2004. During his tenure, he also served as an administrator at Central Cabarrus and Jay M. Robinson High Schools.  He also worked as an administrator and a classroom teacher in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

Melody Marsh, lead teacher at Royal Oaks Elementary School, has been promoted to assistant principal at the school, replacing Leah Mackey, who has resigned.  Marsh joined Cabarrus County Schools in 1998 and has worked as a classroom teacher and lead teacher throughout her tenure.

Tara Butch joins Cabarrus County Schools as an assistant principal at Harris Road Middle School, replacing Bryanna Bailey, who has resigned. Butch most recently worked as an assistant principal in Gaston County Schools.
