NCMS Teacher Publishes Novel

Ben Spencer, a 7th grade teacher at Northwest Cabarrus Middle School, has published his first novel titled "Temperance Unraveling."

The novel is about a town where alcohol is prohibited. Described by one reviewer as a "good old fashioned yarn...positively bubbling over with fully rendered characters," the novel explores what happens when the catalyst of alcohol exposes a community's underlying tensions.

Spencer is currently working on a follow-up novel about a brick mason and his three sons.
