CCS Announces Personnel Changes
Cabarrus County Schools Superintendent Barry Shepherd has announced the following personnel appointments:
Dr. James Davis has been appointed principal of Winecoff Elementary School. Davis, who is a former Wells Fargo Principal of the Year, is currently principal of Knox Middle School in the Rowan-Salisbury School system. Earlier in his career, Davis worked in Cabarrus County Schools as a teacher and administrator. He replaces Michael Kelly, who has resigned.
Susan Owens, assistant principal of instruction at Northwest Cabarrus High School, has been appointed principal of Concord Middle School effective July 1st. Owens replaces Ashlee Luff, who will join the leadership team at Charles E. Boger Elementary School.
Jean Wilkins, assistant principal at R. Brown McAllister Elementary School, will transfer to Cox Mill Elementary School. Wilkins will join the leadership team at Cox Mill Elementary School effective July 1st.
Richard Wells, principal intern at Harold E. Winkler Middle School, has been appointed assistant principal at C.C. Griffin Middle School, replacing Chad Turner, who has resigned. Wells' appointment is effective July 1st.
Bryanna Bailey, assistant principal at C.C. Griffin Middle School, will transfer to Harris Road Middle School, replacing Phillip Johnson, who transferred to the CCS Facilities Management department. Bailey will join the Harris Road Middle School leadership team effective July 1st.
Bret Butch, assistant principal at Hunter Huss High School in Gaston County Schools, has been appointed an assistant principal at Concord High School, replacing Butch Little, who will retire at the end of the school year. Butch's appointment at Concord High School is effective July 1st.
