J.N. Fries Student Receives Art Award

Congratulations are in order for Hailey Smith, a 7th grader at J.N. Fries Middle School.  Hailey was selected by the Professional Educators of North Carolina (PENC) as a Young Artist Award winner. Her artwork will be displayed at PENC's office in Raliegh and will appear in future PENC publications.

Hailey is one of six students from across the state to receive an award. She recently was recognized at the PENC Executive Board meeting. Hailey's art teacher Meredith Farrell accompanied her and her family to the recognition meeting.
