Rocky River Wins Safety Bowl
Dozens of elementary school teams fielded questions about how to handle fire emergencies and how to protect themselves and their families from fires in the Fire & Life Safety Bowl for Cabarrus County.
Congratulations to Rocky River Elementary School's safety bowl team, which swept four teams to take first place in the county competition. Beverly Hills Elementary School's team placed second and Bethel Elementary School's team came in third.
The competition was held March 15th at The Village (across from First Assembly).There were 13 teams.
Sponsors for the competition were S&D Coffee, Wendy's, Ben Mynatt Family of Dealerships, Blackwelder and Associates, CiCi's Pizza, Chick-Fil-A, Concord Auto Body, First Assembly, Great Wolf Lodge, Krispy Kreme, KS Image Solutions, McDonald's, Safe Kids Cabarrus, Sun Drop, Cabarrus County Firefighter's Burned Children's Fund, Concord Professional Firefighters Assoc. #3393, SERVPRO of South Cabarrus County, and SERVPRO of North Cabarrus County and China Grove.
Rocky River's team now moves on the state competition.
