J.N. Fries Welcomes IBM Manager 

Students at J.N. Fries Magnet School recently spent an afternoon with Jim De Piante, an IBM project manager and software engineer, who is a Harrisburg resident. De Piante was involved in the creation and development of Watson, the supercomputer that competed and won on the game show Jeopardy earlier this year.

Through lecture and video clips, De Piante shared background information about how the Watson Project began and helped get the students thinking about what the future might hold for Watson and the technology behind it.
