CCS Students Selected for Governor's School
Eight high school students from Cabarrus County Schools have been selected to attend the Governor's School of North Carolina summer program. The six-week program is open to rising high school juniors and seniors in North Carolina. It is the oldest statewide summer residential program for academically able high school students in the nation.
The program operates on two campuses: Governor's School West at Salem College in Winston-Salem and Governor's School East at Meredith College in Raleigh. CCS students selected are:

Selection criteria include grades, aptitude and achievement test scores, and teacher recommendations. Students in the performing/visual arts are required to audition in the area they applied to study.
Nominations were submitted to the N. C. Department of Public Instruction, and a statewide committee determined which students were selected to attend.
