FALL SPORTS (Football and Softball) TRYOUTS - BEGIN FRI AUG 16TH

A paperwork turn-in meeting will occur on Tue Aug 13th from 6-7pm in the gym.

Attention all student-athletes.  Attached (Youth Camp 2013.doc)is information about the Youth Football Camp being offered by the high school and middle school staff at Hickory Ridge HS.  This is being offered in early June.  All paperwork needs to be turned into Coach Paxton at the high school.  Please go to the 7th and 8th grade football pages if you are interested in some camps being offered by the high school football staff.

Please turn-in all paperwork to the appropriate coach.  If your child played a previous sport at Hickory Ridge THIS year their packet will carry over, however, their physical must still be in good standing.  Please communicate your child's intention of trying out to these coaches prior to tryouts so they can verify the paperwork.

Please turn-in completed sports physical and information sheets to the COACH of the team that your student is trying out for.

Please look at the "AthleticsInfoPPT20122013" for information about the 2012-2013 athletic season.  This attachment will answer many common questions that students and parents may have over the summer.

In order to participate in skill developments, tryouts, or participate during the sports season, the 2012-2013 Participation packet must be completed and turned into the sports coach.  An updated physical (no older than one year old) is required.  The try-out packet for athletics at Hickory Ridge can be found in the attachment labeled: HiRMS1213ParticipationPacketFINALEdition

Admission Prices for Athletic Events

Adults:  $4.00 Students: $2.00

During the 2012-2013 sport seasons all adults will be charged $4.00.  If you are 62 years of age or older, please go to the Cabarrus Education Center for a FREE "Gold Card."  This will allow seniors the opportunity to get in free at every athletic event.

PEP Club Cards are on sell in the front office.  $30 for Adults and $20 for students.  This pass will give you admission to all Hickory Ridge Middle School HOME athletic events. This pass will NOT be accepted at road middle school contests or at any high school event.

Please see Anna Parnell in the front office to purchase these passes.

All forms must be turned in prior to the student-athlete trying out.

Attached you will find a packet of athletic forms that must be properly and fully completed before a student-athlete can try out for a team. Please read these forms thoroughly and completely. All forms required for tryouts are included in this packet. Please read the first page of the participation packet to address any questions regarding the forms required for tryouts. Should you have any questions or concerns about the information on these forms, please contact the athletic director.

Spring: Baseball, Volleyball, Track and Field - Tryouts begin THUR March 7

Spring: Soccer (Offered through FCCA) - Tryouts will occur in February - please contact paul.miller@cabarrus.k12.nc.us for Boys Soccer.  Please contact jstrange@fccasoccer.com for Girls Soccer.

Multiple Seasons: Cheerleading

Only 7th and 8th grade students are eligible to participate in athletics at Hickory Ridge MS.
