A Parent's Guide to Middle School Transitions
For many students the transition from elementary to middle school can be a time of mixed emotions. While children might be excited about the prospect of new friends, new teachers and a fresh start in a new school the change can also be a source of uncertainty and anxiety. As family members we sometime match our children's nervousness with concerns that our children will get "lost" in the transition. There are practical and easy to apply techniques to help your young person succeed in the next stage of learning wh
ile helping us, as parents feel confident that our children are able to succeed in their new setting. Please join us as C.C. Griffin Middle School Counselor Kristen Lavoie delivers "A Parent's Guide to Middle School Transitions."
The session will last approximately 40 minutes with the final portion reserved for questions and answers. Participation is limited to the first 70 registrants.

Ident-A-Kid will be here next Friday, May 24th to do IDs for anyone who wishes to purchase one. These cards provide parents and law enforcement with crucial information should your child become lost or missing. The driver's license-like card contains your child's photograph, fingerprint and description. Parents keep this card or the eKid card with them at all times, and in an emergency, can immediately provide law enforcement with relevant information.
Nature Trail Cleaned Up and Restored by Former Student
Irvin's Nature Trail has recently been cleaned up & restored. Over the break, Austin Crabtree, a former Irvin student, worked on our Nature Trail as part of his Eagle Scout project. This is a terrific resource that our students will enjoy for sure. Have fun on the Nature Trail & enjoy the beautiful weather ahead as we welcome spring!
