Returning nearly the entire team from 2005-2006, it was expected that the Robinson quiz bowl program would continue to set new standards for future teams to follow.  In 2007, the team met and, in some cases, exceeded those high expectations.

The varsity team won 47 games, shattering the previous year's mark of 27.  The B team made respectable showings at several tournaments, making playoffs on several occasions.  The team also traveled outside the state to compete on three occasions.

Highlights for the year:
  • October 7 - RQB opens the year at the Tar Heel Cup, with the varsity team opening with a 435-20 victory over Southern Lee.  John Mace (45 ppg) was fourth individual.
  • October 21 - Raleigh Charter defeats Chattahoochee (Ga.) in the championship game of the inaugural Speedway Shootout at Robinson.
  • November 4 - The varsity team places third out of 24 teams at the Duke Celebrity Shoot.  The B team places 12th.
  • November 10 - Robinson loses to Madisonville-North Hopkins in the first game ever played outside the state of North Carolina.  The team went 3-6 at the Vanderbilt ABC XXXII.
  • February 24 - Robinson's A team goes undefeated in prelims and reaches the championship game of the Saint Mary's Belles Bowl, qualifying the team for the PACE NSC.
  • March 24 - Varsity reaches the final four of the NCATA state tournament, NCOAST.  The JV team places third in their division as freshman Jihoon Baek paces all JV players for the day in points per game.
  • June 8 - Robinson competes in its first national tournament at the PACE National Scholastics Championship at the University of Michigan, going 4-7 overall.
