Robinson's top two quiz bowl teams competed on March 10 at the fourth Right Triangle Open hosted by Raleigh Charter High School.

The varsity team, playing shorthanded for the first team all year, went 3-2 in the preliminary rounds before earning the #8 seed in the playoffs and losing to #9 Saint Mary's in the first round.  John Mace continued to make a strong case to be included on the NCATA All-State Team, placing fourth among all individuals while filling in as captain in the absence of Dorothy Schrader and Gray Cannon.

Daniel Hains and Allie Russell were the other varsity regulars competing; the roster was filled out by sophomore Michael Boyle, playing on varsity for the first time.
The B team, consisting entirely of underclassmen, managed a 2-3 record in the preliminary rounds before going 0-2 in the Swiss-paired consolation rounds.  Freshman Jared Douglas led all scorers on the B team.

Robinson will compete on Saturday at the N.C. Open Academic State Tournament (NCOAST), also hosted this year by Raleigh Charter.  The varsity team will compete with Schrader, Cannon, Hains, and Mace; the JV team (7th-10th graders only) will consist of sophomore varsity regular Allie Russell, Michael Boyle, Sean Boyle, Jared Douglas, and Jihoon Baek.
