I am so excited to be teaching math again this year. We will be working on reinforcing math skills taught in the regular classroom.  We will also focus on students math needs based on IEP goals and AIMSweb data.  Students will learn through use of our smartboard, computers, an Ipad and small group activities and lessons.  We will have some paper-pencil assessments also.

Be ready to work hard and have fun.

Math is a group of skills that grows and develops. They need practice and repetition just like sports.  Use our website to help at home and in the computer lab.  Most sites will not work on an ipad or ipod.  I have already complained to apple about developing the flash software for education purposes.  On a computer, use the side tabs to help you get to links.  Click the web pictures to get to the games.  Practice and practice at home, and any time you get computer time and you will be the one who everyone wants to keep up with.  These are two favorites from last year for multiplication and division.

I do not plan on homework since the students will be getting homework in the regular classroom. Homework does happen sometimes to catch students up if they fall behind not using time wisely in class or are absent.  Students are responsible to make up their school work if they miss class. They have three days to complete and turn in the assignments. Please be sure they are working on their classroom math assignments at home.

Please also be working on your child's addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts nightly. At home and in the world, please find ways for your child to work on their math skills. Math Is Everywhere-  Time, Money, Fractions, Measurement, Graphs, Charts, Tables, Maps, Problem Solving, Geometry........
