I am a graduate of Radford University which is located in Radford, Virginia. I taught fifth grade language arts and social studies at Westmoreland Middle School in Danville, Virginia in 1994. I then moved to Cabarrus County and taught seventh grade social studies and language arts from 1994 to 2003. In 2003 I was accepted into the North Carolina Principal Fellows Program to begin a two-year process to earn a Masters Degree in School Administration from UNC-Charlotte. The last year of that program was spent as a principal intern at Harrisburg Elementary. In 2005, I was hired as assistant principal at Pitts School Road Elementary where I until January of 2011 when I transitioned to Furr Elementary. I am married with two children. My wife is a sixth grade science teacher at Hickory Ridge Middle and my oldest son, Jacob, is a sixth grade student at Hickory Ridge. My other son, Andrew, is nine and a fourth grade student at Pitts School Road Elementary.
I am very happy to be principal of Carl A. Furr Elementary. It is truly a pleasure to work with you and your children. Please contact me if I can be of any assistance. |
